What Muzzle Brake is this?

My buddies gun store took a rifle in on trade that has it.

That's a linear compensator. Similar to some that are made by recoil technologies. Not seeing the exact same one in their line up though.

Linear Compensator? I've never heard of such a thing, until today :-)

That’s the idea

They help sending the blast down range away from the shooter. If you have AR pistol these help a great deal.

I installed one on my ar-10 after one of those 3 horizontal holed brakes bout made me deaf...works well but increases felt recoil

I like the gill style brakes myself.

I have one like it on my Springfield Saint Pistol. They throw blast forward cuz of the short barrel. They are effective

Would it be beneficial on an 18" barrel?
