Starting the Snake Diet..... No I wont be eating feeder mice from the pet store....
I've been doing Low Carb and intermittent fasting for a while. It works pretty well like anything as long as you stick to it. Typically been eating only twice a day within a 6hr window and fasting for a minimum of 18 hrs a day. Snake Diet is a more extreme version. Fasting as long as you can take it sort of thing to get the body into Ketosis quickly and live off your fat stores. Recommended starting is 48hr fast, eat, 72hr fast, eat, then repeat by fasting as long as you can take between eating. Once you get the goal% of fat off you then you can resume a 23-1 fast. Eating 1 meal per day. That's just the basics of it. Look up Snakediet dot com or his youtube channel. The Dude is an obnoxious canadian, but if you can get past that, what he teaches makes sense. As I post this I'm on hour 29 of my first 48...... About to head to the gym now |

That doesnt sound like a very healthy or natural way of eating. Why not just eat healthy meals every day and exercise?

Don't know who your obnoxious Canadian is but if I were to commence a fasting regimen I would go with Dr. Jason Fung, he's done the research to back up what he's promoting.

Intermittent fasting is totally normal. It's been going on since the beginning of time. Let us know how it goes. Joe Rogan has some cool podcasts on it

All "successful" diets have one thing in common. "CICO" Calories In < Calories Out. Atkins, Keto, Intermittent Fasting, etc
I am dragging at the gym if i havent had some carbs couple hours prior. Can't imagine trying to exercise without food for 2 whole days. I was intermittent fasting for a whle and worked for me but i quit because i had trouble getting to my daily protein goal in those 8 hours. Didn't like feeling sick/full all day after cramming 1000 cal/meal (x2)... tough to do when eating chicken breasts, veggies, and my carbs (sweet potatoes, rice, pasta). Just track your cals, eat "intuitively," and exercise! If you're not losing weight, you're eating too much for your amount of movement. That simple! And yes, you can overconsume "healthy foods." 1000cal of boiled chicken/broc = 1000 cal ice cream (for our intents and purposes.) Last edited by BlackHogDown; 08-23-2019 at 07:32 AM. |

I enjoy fasting but usually it’s only 24 hours sometimes up to 48 hours before I start a diet. I never stick to them lol

I'm already carrying around a decent amount of "Food" on my body. Gonna use that up as much as I can then get back to a more "normal" eating schedule. Once you get your body switched from running off carbs to running off it's Fat Stores, the Fat drops off pretty quick. The prolonged fasting periods are for just this, feeding off your body fat. I noticed no difference at the gym yesterday after 30hrs without eating. But I always workout on an empty stomach anyways. Especially when doing cardio. Ran a mile yesterday and worked chest and back like normal. I'll eat lunch today and that will hold me over for a while again. I feel pretty normal right now actually and I'm on hour 43. Quit coffee too. That's worse than the fasting. Little headache from caffeine withdrawal, but I don't feel tired at all on morning 2 without it. |

I've always been short and stocky, but athletic. I've always played sports growing up, Raced MX and Supermoto, Boxed, Wrestled, etc.
I'm 5'8" and 229lb right now. 33% body fat. Pretty fat for me, but still pretty active. I dont have a huge gut or anything and I always have pretty good muscle. Wear 36" waist jeans with my pistol inside the waistband. I'll get back into my 33's in no time. My "Fight Weight" is 180. Even when I get there, I sure don't look skinny. The way I see it, I'm healthy enough to try something extreme like this. Nothing to loose but fat LOL |

My wife and I pretty much do OMAD. I drink coffee all morning then switch to tea/water. She's lost 52# in 7 months, back below pre baby weight. I did keto for 5 weeks last year and shed 44# then kept it off. Intermittent fasting is cool but pushing as far as you can go beyond a daily meal seems a bit extreme.

You would could get a good (unaffected) workout without eating if you were on a low carb diet. In fact, it would be more beneficial. Your body uses fat for energy and doesn’t rely on insulation spikes (up and down) related to carb consumption. I’ve tried it both ways and low carb works well for me.. I used to get hangry all the time and now I can fast if needed or wanting to for health benefits. On a side note, I love hearing these guys who don’t really care about their health saying stuff like “I workout with 12 oz curls” or “if you ever catch me running it’s probably from the cops”... more and more people actually care about their health these days and I think it’s great. Keep it up and keep us posted on results. |

Haven't been on a computer all weekend. Here's where I'm at. Started on Wed 8/21 and I'm down 7lbs in 5 days. (229 to 222)
The last few hours of the first 48hr fast was tough. Started feeling slow and crummy. Ate 1lb of steak and felt a little better but got REALLY Sleepy. About an hour later I felt pretty good so I ate another 1lb of steak and some stir fried veggies. Felt good and decided the 24hr fast would work better for me. So that's what I've been doing. Just eating 1 high protein meal a day. That first 48 kicked me into Ketosis pretty quick, but now I'll just maintain that with doing 24's. I feel great just eating once a day. No loss of energy at the gym. Quitting Coffee/Caffeine and Beer are probably good things too. |
