    Is this a rub?

Settle a question we are divided on.
I know pictures 1 and 2 are rubs.
Are pictures 3 and 4 Rubs???
Same tree with pictures of both sides. This is new in the last 7 days.
Never seen a porcupine. There are cows in that pasture. Lots of hogs.

#3 and 4 are definitely NOT buck rubs, nor hog rubs, but I am not certain what they are. I used to see those same kind of markings on our lease also.

I always thought those kind of rubs were from cows.

We did not have cows on our place and had markings just like that. I didn’t think about porcupine.

                    In for the answer.

I don't know the answer? We have never seen a porcupine in 16 years..Could be some out there. No exotics. We have Javi's around there but they can't get that high.

Axis bulls can be aggressive on those trees. Set a camera on it, maybe something big returns.

I would be on the lookout for big piles of elephant dung. Maybe start carrying a Loudenboomer gun.

Just curious, why would you say they were not made by a buck?

Yes it’s a rub. I see the exact same kind of trees rubbed on in a rub line often.
