I put in for what I consider to be some of the best units (hunts) every year. I haven't been super successful on drawing as of yet but this year is gonna be my year!!!

My son drew a pretty awesome mule deer hunt two years ago. Killed a doe and a buck. Both of my kids drew a management hunt together last year. My daughter killed a doe. Hopefully they will continue to have good luck.

We put in for several and have been drawn for some good hunts

I could spend $100 and not be disappointed if I did not draw anything. Wasted more on less rewarding raffles

anxiously awaiting. I've only been applying for 2 years and really regret not starting 10+ years ago since I just didn't hunt at all instead of trying any of the draw hunts. Got lucky and drew a hunt last year and had an awesome time. I don't have anywhere else to hunt so for me it was an amazing experience hunting in a new area.

I honestly would not be surprised if it comes out as early as normal with all the bs that’s been going on. They are probably a little behind and also may be waiting to see if any scheduling changes need to be made. I hope not but wouldn’t surprise me

We've been on several over the years. My boys used to draw frequently. This will be the last year to my youngest. All the staff seem to go out of their way for the youth to make successful and safe hunts.

I've never drawn but won't keep me from applying again this year.

Historically, down at Chap, they have not turned away a standby youth hunter. If your nephew is not drawn for anything, check out Chaps youth hunt's. Glen & I took our boys down there for years when they were young. Check out others for youth hunts as well.

Yes! My son and daughter went on several. They try really hard to let the kids hunt. Definitely put their names in. There is no cost for the youth hunt drawings!

Is anyone into double digit loyalty points? I have 7 in a bunch of categories. Hoping to draw one or two this year.

I drew e-postcard archery at Big Lake Bottom WMA last year.

I’m opting out of public land and draws this year because I ain’t gonna sit hemming and hawing making plans being at the whims of closures and civil unrest.

I’m setting my mind on family land out of state, it doesn’t close.

Now I’m just thinking about hunting instead of variables, variance, and variation.

You should automatically get one point per year in each category for which you aren't drawn. Draw, and you lose your points for that category. Your loyalty points should show up on the online system under "check status."

As always, I will play the TPWD lottery again this year. I have a lease in E Texas (Trinity County) but enjoy the possibility of hunting/seeing other parts of this great State. I went on my first TPWD public hunt at Pedernales Falls SP in 2004. Being a spreadsheet geek, I've kept track of all the hunts and animals shot over the years by myself, a buddy and my kids on these hunts. Been pretty lucky to draw quite a few but also have gone standby multiple times, especially with the kids. Here are my TPWD stats:

# of TPWD Hunts: 29 Total since 2004 (15 of these were youth hunts w/ my boys)
Whitetail Shot: 31 (mostly does and spikes)
Hogs Shot: 8
Javelina Shot: 11
Axis: 2
Aoudad: 1

Also drew my first waterfowl E postcard hunt last year and had a blast there too.

I figure if I don't get drawn, it's a good organization/program to donate $$ to. Good luck to all those who apply.

My son was pretty lucky with the draw over the years. Couple of spike/doe hunts, standby at the chap several times (doe), and ES at Colorado Bend State Park.

Took nearly a decade for my mother and I to draw a hunt. Doe/spike at inks many years ago. Staff treated her like a queen. We drew standby the next year.

I have some preference points. Maybe this year will the one
