I'm finally slowing down a bit, but my buggy is out of commission. Got it hauled to the mechanic last week, it will be sold as soon as I get it back, then I'll be looking for something else.
Headed to the lease for the first time since Feb/Mar time frame tomorrow to fill feeders, hang a new set I've been scouting the last few years, and trim some lanes up. Had to recruit my dad for his buggy, but he'll be happy to get out of the house. I left a camera out on the spot I'm hanging the new set last year, hopefully it will have pictures of some survivors worth seeing. I've been Fairly un motivated so far this year. Lost possibly a 170" clean 8 last year and it took the wind out of my sails, but these last couple weeks the fire has returned. I'm anxious to get back in the woods. Tomorrow's work will be good for the soul.

Man, there are some great looking deer out here! I just moved to Lindale/Mineola from the DFW area, and I'm pretty pumped about the upcoming season. I got this guy on camera a few days ago. He's grown a decent amount since last year.

Edit: I guess I can't post photos yet.

AnCo was quiet last year. Hopefully things turn around this season.

I went to my lease in Trinity yesterday. I'd put my corn in my feeder 2 weeks ago with the plan to come back and turn on the timer. Well as it turns out the **** pigs found it and knocked almost all of it out of the barrel just by shaking it. And that is why I don't feed more than I do.

If there was room where my feeders are I would. Unfortunately I canít build a pen large enough without taking out some pine trees.

I have done this also. The panels can be wrapped and warped to curl around.

Etxbuckman, if the trees or roots are in the way of hammering in T posts into the ground you can use the trees to anchor the panels. You can get some turf spikes from the hardware store and hammer into the tree a bit then bend down.

Have to hit "Go Advanced" button and use the Manage Attachments button.

If you dont have that option, it has not been long enough since joining.

Plenty of acorns on my oaks in Liberty county on my home place, both in the yard and down in the creek bottom... But then again, we got rain when no one else did too this year. It was late May before it finally dried out enough for me to mow my pastures...

Swamp chestnuts are sometimes called "cow oaks". The acorns are so big that cows love to eat them.

Do deer eat cow oaks? I have sat under them many times and never seen a deer eat an acorn.

Iíve had a date with this cat for the last couple of years and Iím hoping this year I can get it done.

He had the makings of a drop in 17 and a nice drop in 18 with the makings of a double drop. 2019 his left side went crazy in the above pick with a really nice drop on the right side that you canít see in the pic.

Iíve got pictures of him since shortly after I moved from North Carolina to Baton Rouge in 2011. Iím thinking Iíve been running cameras since 2012 or 2013. Without looking through all my pics heís at least 8.
