Default Sons first xbow kill, coyote didn't stand a chance...

I gotta brag a bit on my... kisser. We were looking for a shooter buck, just didn't work out, but a pair of coyotes came in and the big one made a mistake.

They came in from our right at about 40y but we didn't have a shot because we only had 1 window open in the blind. They split up, the smaller one veered off away from us but the big one crossed in front of the blind at about 15y and as soon as he got to the shooting lane I gave him a big wet squeaky mouse kiss and he stopped.

The shot was almost perfect, he ran off into the woods and we heard him crash, he made it about 40y.

This was Logans first kill with the crossbow, really hoping we can add a good buck to that count this season.

Congratulations to Logan and to you Dad for introducing him to our world of hunting. You can be proud that he and you will share many more hunting days. Just like me and my son.

Thanks fellas, he told me his heart was pounding like crazy right after the shot!

It was a beautiful male, great coat, I wish I would have gotten a pic of Logan holding him under his arms like they do with the wolves, he was big.

Thanks man, it's a Bear Torrix. It's big and heavy but with the factory scope and bolts it is a tack driver. Get a Caldwell Field Pod, it's a gamechanger with the little ones.

Thanks fellas, I'll be sure he reads the thread!
