Anyone in Jack County feeding Cotton Seed and if so where are you getting it ? Wanting to start after this season but have not seen any seed in this area???

What’s the going price on cotton seed? How much protein is in it?

Rate depends on supply...which depends on rainfall or lack thereof. Demand has gone up quite a bit in recent years due to CS gaining popularity within the hunter community that’s for sure.

Will cows eat the cotton seed? We have some of the only jumping cows that have gotten into our Feed pens and eaten all our Protein. We have cotton seed next to the protein and the cows never eat on the seed just the protein. If we go to only seed will the cows take to it?

Yes, cows will absolutely eat CS. Stands to reason they would prefer the protein pellets if available though. If you can’t keep the cows out of the pens I wouldn’t feed CS.
