    Well THAT backfired!!

Iran's deputy health minister said he was under self-quarantine in his house just a day after appearing at a press conference in Tehran with journalists.

Iran’s deputy health minister said he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is in self-quarantine at his home just a day after he appeared at a news conference in Tehran where he sought to quell fears about the outbreak. Iraj Harirchi, the head of Iran’s counter-coronavirus task force, announced the illness in a video online while vowing that authorities would continue working to control the spread.

      Yup....
The health minister himself resigned yesterday.

Another note.. Maybe a long shot but every day odds increase.

If this is "the one" virus that goes around the world and kills a lot of people the markets have a lot further to fall than anyone understands. This is the scary part IMO.. Nearly every city is leveraged too much with bonds. Governments have used all the ammo and ideas they had to keep markets up. Idiots should have never lowered interest again when the economy was/is super strong.

My prediction is by the end of April/early May this will be over and markets just fine between 28-30k DOW

Or we are screwed and markets lower than anyone thinks possible like DOW 13-15k

Fear mongering at it's finest by world leaders..or a true test of humanity coming soon.

I hope this all blows over...But it seems to get worse/spread every day. No big deal if it's just like the flu. But if you see government reactions it's anything but the common flu...That's for dang sure.

Its much worse than any strain of flu and health officials know this...… Like you have stated , this should be obvious.

I heard the word pandemic 15 times in 20 minutes of news just now. I see a great buy opportunity coming in a couple weeks.

Yep. I just feel stupid for not selling last week. I even started a thread on TBH about selling.

But of course, like 100% of the time, financial advisors swear one can never time a top... That and I was suckered by DOW,SPY hitting new highs day after day after day right in the face of this virus.

Oh well. I have plenty to buy lots in a week or two... For now I'll have to fend off my advisor who will be calling any minute with the "stocks are on sale" pitch and can't time a bottom speech LOL The bottom will be obvious IMO with a drastic flash drop..capitulation

This is IF this virus trend continues to worsen.. which I can't see it getting better. No way to stop the spread now.

The virus is way ahead of the reporting. You can hear the word pandemic everywhere today. The world will adjust and the panic will fade.

And just what does "hold China accountable" actually mean? What we gonna do to 'em or "make" them do???

I think you are correct if comparing to past situations...this article kinda falls inline with that thinking in regards to world preparation.

WHO, Fits criteria for 'Disease X'...

"Disease X" was coined by WHO as a placeholder on a list of illnesses that have potential to reach international epidemic levels.

6 confirmed cases in San Antonio.

How many people with CV stay home and just think it's the flu?
How many with CV go see a doctor who then sends them home saying they just have the flu?

What are the odds the 6 confirmed didn't spread to hundreds of others during the 10-15 days before their symptoms showed up?

I'd wager there are 1,000's in the U.S. with CV right now.

The 6 in San Antonio are people who are in quarantine after being removed from the cruise ship in Japan. They're not just 6 random people off the street that ended up with the virus somehow.

While it's certainly possible that random people on the streets in Texas will eventually be at risk of catching it, it doesn't appear that is happening now. Perhaps all the panic and hysteria in the media is way overblown (as is typically the case).

"Health officials said the risk to the public is low as the patients have been under federal quarantine since their return and have not interacted with the public."

Six cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Texas, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
