Signed a contract on my new home build in September. Since then, the base price has gone up 99k for this home. They are pouring concrete this week finally.

We wanted to build, finally got our plans finished, but our material costs went up $80,000, so we are just gonna wait. If prices don’t come back down, I guess we’ll just sell the lot and do something else. Current prices aren’t sustainable and something has to give. At some point

It kills me when I read news articles that home construction costs are plus $24k or $36k. The increase is much larger.
