Default Looking for Bass Bait From the 90s

Worked the Academy fishing counter during my A&M years in the early 90s. We had a bait I'd sure like to find again. It was basically a big ole buzz bait but the 'blade' was Styrofoam. It floated and threw a heck of a wake/splash. Blade was painted gold.

Anyone remember what that was called? Or better yet does anyone know if they are still manufactured or available?

Man, I slaughtered the bass back in the day on that thing!

Moss master buzz bait might be what your looking for, eBay could be the only place to get them anymore.

I donít know that one, but anyone remember the hank Parker vampire spinner bait? I thought that was the coolest thing ever when I was a kid. Still remember being heart broken when a bass broke my line and took that spinner bait with it.

I remember shelling out my hard earned money on some baby snake lures (copperhead and moccassin). Never got a hit on those **** things.

I bought some that looked like a baby blackbird, the wings made it float and it had treble hook in it’s butt. It just caught limbs and moss. I was real bad about buying fishing stuff when I was a kid.

Pre rigged creme worms with the propeller up front too and they would melt in your tackle box .

I. The 70ís, H&H spinner baits, for 18 cents couldnít be beat for tank bass. Iím sure they would still slay them.

I have bought and used a bunch of different buzz baits over the years but I have never even seen one with a Styrofoam blade..

One of the best BASS baits ever made was one called a "TOP GUN"..
I caught hundreds of Bass on them back in the 80's and early 90's and some big ones too.. They are no longer made.. They resembled a SLUGO. I still have 2 unopened packs that I just cant make myself open.. When those are gone that's it..

Default Looking for Bass Bait From the 90s

Did catch some fish on the flying lure under boat docks. Normally didnít buy into the infomercial stuff like this (helicopter lure, banjo minnow etc) but I liked the backup action. It was **** expensive for a college student and didnít buy it again.

I think the thread got derailed. Lol

I remember when Uncle Josh pork rinds came in a glass jar and the lids would always rust tight or forget about them and they would dry out on the hook.

A black "BIG DADDY" Uncle Josh pork rind on a black/blue rattle back jig was my GOTO bait in January and February.. Caught a bunch of big mammas while using that combo with icicles hanging off the front of my Skeeter..... I sure miss those days..

Mamma...I gotta get this new tackle box.

Why? What's wrong with your old one?

See this? It says "wormproof". My worms won't melt any more.

Just keep your tackle box in your room boy.

Dang mamma.

To further de-rail,,,

Pico Perch was all time favorite. I think I have one left.

Remember the little rattles that can be inserted into plastics, and attached to hooks.

The best of times!
Wiggla Warts are the only thing I have left from the 90s.
Mister Twister is what I remember the most from back then though.
Manns purple worms were my go to bait more often than not.
The infomercials were incredible lmao.
And essentially you had K-mart or Walmart to buy from, and only if you could get a ride into town.
This thread brings back a lot of memories.

I caught a lot of pond bass and small private lake bass on a RattleTrap with a removable plastic, rubber like tail. I think they were Power somethingís. I think an old tackle box at my parents prob still has some and some flying lures.
