I hope the president and his people have a clear campaign strategy in the works. So far he has not been able to articulate even a basic outline of an agenda for his second term. He is not running against Hillary, who may be the most unlikable candidate in history. People may not get excited about Joe Biden or even think he's slipping mentally but he is not generally hated. I believe there are many moderate Dems and independents who didn't vote for HRC but would pull the lever for Joe if he can come across as even marginally competent. My guess is Trump will make the case that as president Biden wouldn't really be in charge but will be controlled by his radical left-wing puppeteers. The reelection campaign hopes voters will look at the chaos happening around the country over the last few months and worry that a President Biden would mean more of that. As an aside, it's probably too much to ask but I hope there are fewer schoolyard taunts/nicknames from Trump this time around. A lot of people are sick of that.

Jerp - You make a lot of sense. We know how the right and the left will vote. They preach to each other and do not change anyone's mind. Independents and moderates will decide the election. I might be wrong but I believe the election is not going to be won by a debate. To keep from losing the moderates the president needs to pick one of the hot issues and step up to lead all of the American people. The danger for the conservatives is that Trump has re-made the party in his own image and I wonder what happens to the party if Trumps ceases to be relevant.

Here is something to think about....anybody the Dems choose to run will probably continue to make no impact, the same as they have done while in congress for the last 40-50 years.
Trump made a difference because he wasn't looking to pander to the system. Most of the others only sought re-election and party line politics.

Most others seem to be on the ticket of...get me my millions, my health care and lifetime of pension and tell me how awesome I have done.

We need to learn to vote em in AND vote em back out after 2-3 terms. It really falls on the citizens of the good o USA.

If I had an option I would not be voting for a spendocrat. Donald Trump has failed to lead and that has brought this country to where we are now. “W”, Mad Dog, McMasters, etc. these men are heros and patriots. If that is the company I must keep, I can live with that.

Joe Biden is no more socialist then Donald Trump. Biden has never handed out 2 trillion dollars to businesses. He’s old, and maybe a little befuddled. That’s a lot better then old and bat s—t crazy.
