How about an Oak Sink for the bathroom.

I actually promised my wife I would make this about 18 months ago. Just saying, there's no need to nag a man when he says he will do it, he will do it.

Beautiful work! How did you finish the “bowl”?

I began by gouging out an imagined idea of the bowl with a chainsaw. Then removed most of the rest with a carving blade on the angle grinder.

I then traded the carving blade for a 40 grit flapper wheel until I was happy with the shape.

Then I worked my way through different grits until I reached 320 grit on the flapper wheels.
I then transfered to the random orbit sander starting again with 40 grit and working my way up to 320 grit.

I used a 2 3/8" forstener bit to make the depression for the drain and a 1 1/2" forstner bit for the actual drain hole.

I used a circular saw mounted sideways in a home made jig to make the cut around the perimeter. Sorry I didn't think to get a picture of it.

Then I applied numerous coats of Penetrating Epoxy and finished by using 4-0000 steel wool to gently soften the high gloss left of the epoxy.
