Missed the deer of a lifetime

Well, after many years deer less, it all came together this morning on public land. I had a monster 10 come and and stop 10 yards from the base of my tree. Settled the pin (steep angle) and watched the arrow sail high over it's back. I've been hunting a long time and this one was tough...silver lining, clean miss, but not sure what happened. Frustrated to no end!

It happened to me a couple years ago. Then my brother in-law shot it a week later.

yep. spine gotta be parallel with string. also, aim for exit hole on close shots.

BTW.....that miss will sting from now on. Just accept and move on.

Gosh I have done that twice on really close shots. In my case, I drew and then lowered my bow arm down instead if bending at the waist. High shot on an impossible muss.

Yep....dropping the bow arm is even more common than not bending at the waist!!! [emoji53] Been there done that!!![emoji2959]

I missed a 171 in Kansas last year due to high CRP grass so I feel your pain. Another guy killed him the next day with a crossbow.

Spot on, now that the frustration has eased, I do remember moving my shooting arm to target and not bending at the waist. Thanks for the insight and I should of known better, but failed to go through the steps in my head.

                          Man what a buck though!!

That's why we do it. I'm hard headed I still do it. Good luck
