    Bucks loosing velvet.



    Over night this guy went from top of the hit list to ehhh my wife can kill him. He lost all his mass.

        No doubt. Just not what I’m looking for. Think I might let him walk and see if he blows up next year. He’ll be 6 next season.

              Every year. Hate the end of August. They go from massive majestic beasts to pencil horned yearlings overnight. I watched a decent 9 all last year, last pictures of him look like he added some inches, I know when he sheds he’s going to look the same a last year.

                The only thing I will miss after retiring EOY. Brazoria county bucks start chasin does late Aug./ early Sept. I was able to watch this play out @ work & get paid very well for it!

                  My yard deer in Ft. Bend County lost their velvet this week. Mine went from pencil horn in velvet to for sure pencil horn...

                    I had friends decades ago who had a bet about who would shoot the biggest measuring mule deer. Could be any time of year. One was shot in full velvet and took the prize.

                          Just shoot the axis. They might be different deer little scar inside left front knee. But it could be grainy pics.

                              Looks like same buck to me in those pics just a month’s time apart. The facial features, scars on the brisket and neck by the ears matchup as well as the rack. IMO.
