It’s been awhile. I hunted my lease in Votaw (Southeast Texas) early on, and was lucky enough to get an 8 pointer and a doe.

Then it was my wife’s turn. She killed an Axis buck in Del Rio.

I just finished a great weekend taking my oldest son, and two of my grandkids hunting.

Now I’ve got a couple days to sling arrows before heading home to enjoy Thanksgiving with the family. This won’t be a live hunt, but I will update when I can. I don’t have cell service in any of my blinds out here in Eldorado.

Unfortunately I don’t have any trophy bucks on camera. I will be after a mature buck, and/or does to fill the freezer.

He’s a nice enough 9 point. I have pics of him on camera. Easiest tracking job ever

I sent one through the heart. Blood shot out immediately. He jumped up, hit my barbed wire pen, and fell back beside my feeder.

Yes actually you did. Yoda has had my back on many hunts. This is us when I was still a young Jedi. I could wield my saber for hours back then.

I made a good shot on a big doe! The Rage did the job again! She ran about 30 yards and dropped in sight. I hurried out to get her. I field dressed her, and hid her under a cedar tree in the shade. I just got back in my blind about 1 minute before the feeder spun. I see two small bucks already on some hand corn.

Another arrow sent! I saw two 8 pointers, and a wide 4 point that had a bigger body than both 8’s! I think I made a good shot on the big 4. He jumped behind some cedars. I’m gonna give him some time.

He only went about 25 yards from where I hit him. My lease mates will love me. I burned my last tag on a management buck instead of a trophy. They’re all made out of meat though. I hate seeing deer without brows. Time for a quick pic then I’ve got work to do
