Anyone use payroll software for small business?

My wife has a hair salon and only has a couple of employees. Does anyone here use an easy to use payroll system that will calculate commissions and then pay employees electronically?

    I appreciate any info.

Quickbooks will do all of that.

I highly recommend using a payroll company though.

I use quickbooks for invoicing, POs etc but have a cpa actually do payroll. Taking out the taxes etc was more than I want to deal with.

              How many employees?

Its rather easy to do in Excel (if you do not have many employees).

At a hair salon, pay them as a 1099 employee and have them file their own taxes.

I am fixing to sign up with quick books full service and here is what i have been quoted

Quick books monthly fee ????? ( to have quick books)
regular pay roll - 35 a month and you do taxes
Deluxe 80 a month - does the pay roll and the taxes which takes the liability off of you.

You will also need to consider if she will pay by check or direct deposit. If by check then you will need to order checks which is another fee.

You could always hire a book keeping service to get you started. Make sure they are quickbooks certified.

We have been doing our own payroll and paying taxes for years. Just wanted to see if there was a better way to do it.

I’ve been using QB since 2004, it’s the only way to go, but have your CPA walk you through several times before they turn you lose.

I use Wave. Free and seems pretty easy to use.

I use Quickbooks and have been since 2000. Best way to go imo.
