Murder. Hornet. Seriously I don’t know. Wasps and hornets all look the same to me. I spot one, I start batting the air and running I circles to get away. My wife thinks it’s funny as heck.

Never seen one of those but can say that’s not his stinger.

It is. That is an ovipositor. Ovi=egg and positor=deposits. You probably noticed these on female crickets as a kid. This species likely deposits eggs in some out of the way location.

I believe posterior = rearward. Opposite of anterior.
