Wife had a friend with one of those MASH helicopters. He was always talking about coming by and landing in the pasture one day and taking a tour around my general area.

NO! Just do it like you did it when the IP chopped the throttle. Maintain directional control with the pedals, and cushion it on (don't jerk it).
