Frozen waffles....still frozen. Maybe not my favorite jail breakfast but the only one I've had the privilege of eating.

I need to live a little more! The only time Iíve ever in a jail cell was to look at the restrooms in the St Helena Jail in Greensburg La. It was a sales call and I had to look at all the toilets for the size of the TP dispensers.

Are you sure you've never been in one? You were the first person who came to mind when I read the title to this thread

My best friend got thrown in jail in Tunica, Ms. They came to the cell with black coffee, a piece of fatback and cornbread for breakfast. He took the coffee, looked at the jailer and said, "no thanks, I had that for supper".

My gosh, Iíve seen the inside of several jails, I think six total.

All from arresting over 2,000 people except one that I toured in Louisiana. That one scared the heck out of me and made me glad to get back to Texas....

Ah yes. The ol Sterrett diner. They kept it simple. Back in the day, McKinney had 2 slices of bread with some kind of stuff that resembled eggs with 2 stips of brown paper that was supposed to be bacon I think. Now days, if you tell them you're diabetic, you get a little better food than the rest. Not much better, but better.

I went to jail in Humble for running a red light. I thought I could bull**** my way out of it. Told him I would go through it right this time he could watch me . Then it got real and he asked me for my occupation i said I was a fk n hobo. Well back then they didn't like vagrants. Well we got into a dancing tango when he started to cuff me. That I can still hear these words you're resisting arrest. Now I knew that wasn't good. So I just stopped doing the tango and off to jail I went. Thank God for Pernell . Wasn't in there long enough for food. I just started singing old Man River

I’ve had it in Rusk, Jasper, Newton, JEfferson, Chambers, Liberty, TDC Gibb Lewis, Hightower, Henley and a few others.

Jasper was best. Biscuits, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, tacos, milk, coffee, juice.

TDC unit in Jasper gets 2nd place.

Haven’t spent the night in any of them though.

Lew Sterret or as they used to call it LSU, cinnamon roll and black coffee. The roll was probably a week old and you had to soak up all the coffee in the little cup so you could choke it down. Then they kicked us out an our hour later, should of skipped the breakfast..lol

Best jail breakfast was Carrollton TX. Picked up for armed robbery (really bad mistaken identity) of a 7-11 one night. Next morning the detectives opened up cell and said y'all are free to go. Want some fresh coffee and donuts?? Great coffee and awesome donuts!! lol

Worst was powdered eggs, rubber grits, a piece of bread and cold black coffee like substance...

2009- Travis County served me sandwich and some other miscellaneous item, but I was too upset to even eat it.

2002 - Best one I ever heard of was what Iím assuming was Val Verde County jailers brought McDonalds to the drunk tank. We had a large group go to Acuna and lost a friend of a friend along the way. He didnít remember much but the jailers said the cops picked him at border and brought him in because he didnít know where he was staying. When we picked him up he literally came walking out with McDonalds and a smile. It was pretty hilarious.

Same here! When you wake up in the pen having no idea how you got there, feeling like hammered dog chit, and watching a cell full of thugs yelling and peeing out the bars, its hard to think about food. Thankfully that was my one and only opportunity at jailhouse breakfast.

But apparently I was the life of the party at the Corona club in Acuna lol.

*Haha my story is very similar to the one above! Minus the McDonalds

That was around 1988, courtesy of ahole local GW, and it made an impression

After frequenting many fine establishments in Texas and the southwest, my favorite was in a small town in New Mexico where we were served huevos rancheros, corn tortillas, refried beans and darn good coffee. This, of course, was after we were forced to clean up the mess left behind the previous evening at a local tavern and paint over the graffiti about Pancho Villa's mother.
