Everything was filleted. Originally I was going to create more work on myself but I decided better. Will get another picture this afternoon that shows it all. Hopefully tomorrow I can remove the zip ties.

I spread thickened epoxy along one edge only of the stringers and supports (fillets). After this cures real well I will flip the boat and start on the hull. After the hull is complete I will flip it back over and glass the bilge.

Pulling 12 hour nights at work has not left me with much boat building time. This morning I mocked up a spray rail/gunnel idea I had and that was it.

Made a little progress today. I cut the bow deck out and it is fitted nicely with just a little Carolina flare. Tomorrow I plan to fabricate the hatch and will begin installing deck bracing.

I started on the hatch today and epoxied some braces in. If all goes well, I get to break out the router tomorrow.

The funny part about building a wood boat is all the clamps probably cost more than the wood.

Working on the hatch and deck today. I predrilled the cedar to prevent gouging the deck. Tomorrow I will route it out after the epoxy cures and screws are removed.

This afternoon I prepared the hatch/deck area with lots of support bracing so tomorrow the deck can go on and I can get back going on the hatch! Oh, I did install a couple tubes for horizontal rod storage. It will be tight but I can get one rod on each side.

I got the hatch channel routed and all surfaces to receive thickened epoxy has been primed with epoxy. After lunch I will install the deck and gunnels, let it dry, and flip!

I got the deck and gunnels epoxied in place. After it fully cures in a couple days I will route the inside gunnels with a flush cut guide bit followed by a round over. Then I will trim the outside to match the deck reveal and flip it!

Are you going to put any kind of flotation in the hull? I would also recommend drilling some holes in your framework and using pex along bottom or sides to run any wires through from the front to back/battery location.

I will be adding closed cell foam sheets to help stiffen the deck. Foam does not help a boat float contrary to what some may think. Foam is added to help insure the boat stays afloat should the hull become ruptured. She will have pvc chases for the fuel line and electrical.

I ran out of fumed silica to make thickened epoxy so unfortunately work has stopped for the day. More will arrive tomorrow but in the meantime I mocked up the trim tabs just because.

Thickened epoxy will be going in all the voids and zip tie holes prior to laying fiberglass

Our fumed silica arrived so after lunch I will fill all the zip tie holes and allow it to cure a couple days. Thursday I will sand it out and if all goes well, glass the hull!

I decided to go the longer route and sand in a couple days after the epoxy cures then lay glass. I could have done it all in one step but then I would have more faring to do afterwards.

Well, I thought I would spend the morning removing blush from the epoxy and prep the hull for glass. Mother Nature blew another cold front in late last night/early this morning and the epoxy is not fully cured. Fortunately I am not in a rush but I was looking forward to getting some work done today. More than likely I will wait until Friday and check her again.

I use the Smart Tabs and really like them. I bought the flip up brackets for when I'm drifting really shallow. They don't affect you much backing up, but l don't back up very far.

Alright, Spring Break is over and we returned home to the chaotic mess at the grocery stores and society. This morning we worked in the garden and this afternoon I got back on Project Skipjack!

First I wrapped up sanding then started laying out fiberglass. This build and one more will make two boats Iíve built so to say I was a little apprehensive about the glass work would be an understatement. It was a little stressful because I could feel the resin starting to flash just before I wrapped up with the sides but I was able to get it knocked out...both sides are now in glass!!! Tomorrow I will glass the bottom of the hull before going back to work.

Well, Spring Break is over and it is sadly time to return to the chaotic reality of society today. With the CDC recommending people to remain isolated if possible, I escaped to the shop and got back on Project Skipjack.

Glassing solo I had to get a little creative so I had to work the bow section first then slowly worked my way back. After lunch I will install the strip down the center then jump on the spray rails.
