Ironically yes considering they were native in parts of west texas before shot out many moons ago.
The state has kicked around the idea of taking them off the exotic list in part of west texas in recent years but the population has warranted it yet

We all know about the black bears, but get after the elk!

I'm on a 6yr waiting list for $12k to hunt a premier ranch for a W Texas bull elk and looking forward to it!

They’ll do it just as soon as making $$$ off them is viable. And then they’ll be on a draw system where none of us will ever have a prayer of being able to hunt them.
