Never had an issue with any Lew's in the salt. I'd say they're a top performer in that area as long as they're maintained correctly. But heck for 69 ain't nothing wrong with that!

I picked up one of these last year online for the $70 price and it's a good reel. I normally buy all my Lews on the high school program discount but added this one since it looked like a decent deal. I am all freshwater on these and it has done fine as a flipping reel.
