Giado’s has good gumbo and bisque. The spot has good burgers, fried pickles and a great view.

Cajun Greek is awesome. Shrimp N Stuff for fried seafood is good as well. Original Mexican Cafe on 14th for Mexican, and I have always liked the Mosquito Cafe for breakfast(Also on 14th).

Go to miller's seawall grill for breakfast. The jumbo lump crab eggs Benedict is amazing. I like fishermans wharf for dinner

I know you said nothing fancy... but if you change your mind. Put on your slacks and fix your hair and get a reservation at Rudy and Pacos. It is by far the best food on the island, and I can’t think of a better anniversary dinner in Galveston. It’s not snooty, they just aren’t letting in any old Galveston bums in board shorts and sandals. They are also open for lunch if you want some delicious food with a more relaxed dress code.

All of these are locally owned restaurants, we avoid the chain places like the plague. The food and atmosphere is so much better with the little guys.

Just left yesterday my wife and I went for our anniversary, none of these places disappointed. If you like raw oysters Gaido’s had the freshest I’ve ever had.
