Hanging Feeder Bracket

I made this bracket for hanging a feeder. It's 17" wide, 12" drops. Then got some grade 8 bolts and lock washers. I have to get a lid tomorrow and wait until this weekend to put feeder motor and timer on there. Gonna hang from air plane cable from a tall tall pine tree in East Texas. Trying new methods.

Every time I tried hanging my 30 gallon from a tree limb in E TX, the limb gave way. Weak limbs in E TX I suppose...

We use the same method which works perfectly. But we've had a couple limbs give way, so we always try to find a real sturdy limb to hang them from

Where did you get the barrel?

Found it in my junk pile at the house. I can't find these barrels for the life of me to buy. I searched and searched and I ended up having one on the property haha.
