add me to the 4yr old camp. I've noticed over the years that the 4 yr olds have a unique young but old look. 4 is technically the hump where their body stops using up all the protein and the horns can start to really flourish. So you get a lot of the older deer definition like the brisket and the pot belly with the swayed back. But then they still have a youngish looking face not too many wrinkles and not quite as much shoulder fat/muscle so the neck looks a little long.

I'd say give him another year if you can

I'd say 3-4, just looking at his face, belly and back

I'm with the "4/4.25/4.5/between 3 and 5" yr old crowd.

Exactly, That deer is min 5 but prob a summertime 6. neck is thin(which they all are in the summer) but transitions into top of brisket. Callouses on knees, slight sway in back. I also like looking how they set on their hooves to determine age but can't see feet.

My son got this buck opening evening! He was old enough to be better than this. Rough scored at 122”. Also found out he was blind in one eye.
