...."and will swivel at the upright so you can spin it from head to head.
The resistance from the pipe in pipe is the perfect amount to keep it from going all loosey goosey when it turns"
So, remember this ^ ...well this lady is loving her stand and started doing the mounting and everything, so it not being used just for painting now. Apparently she found a need to lock the head from spinning from time to time, so I am now adding a T-bolt to use as a lock. I wish I had put a bit more thought into what you said then!!!
There is a possibility of a clearance issue between the T-bolt lock and the L-bolt ....I think I'll wait and see if she runs into any trouble...if so, I'll cut the bolt and the handle down some. I don't have the rest of the stand here .

See the bold?
You did what she wanted.
She changed the scope after the project was finished.
That's just typical woman stuff!
Seems a little rolling cart would be better for that.
No, I made a very small shelf, about 3"x4", 1/4" thick. It is welded to the other (lower) collar, also greased. If anything else is needed, it can be drilled and bolted to this shelf, or c-clamp/ vise grip...again, easier to have some kind of foundation.
I did weld two small pieces of round stock, underneath it...it should hold the airbrush. They are thin enough that they can be bent to accommodate a different style brush, if needed.
