Default Lt Governor? who and why?

With early voting under way and the heated debate on the senate race, it got me thinking on this election as well. Who should get the vote for lt governor and why? Just curious about yalls thoughts on this.

I will vote Mostly Red; but Dan Patrick. He helped screw the Houston and Dallas Fireman out of half their pension. He is Not a friend of the Teachers either. Their insurance has sky rocketed and no pay raises as promised; while he tries to screw them out of their pension. He is a failed buisness man and he is not from Texas. Just cause you are a Republican does not you mean have my vote.

This is my thinking as well. Iíll be voting for a democrat for the first time in my life. I wish people would do some research when voting. Patrick has not been good for education in Texas. A lot of Retired teachers are struggling to make with the insurance changes. I was planning on retiring in 4 years but not sure Iíll be able to now. It sucks being in a profession for 25 years and having the pension change when you are close to retirement. I donít agree with everything Collier says , but I do disagree with a lot of Patrickís ideals

The way I look at it, even in TX, any Dumbocrat is against what I stand for and I will not be voting for anything that has a D after his/her name. Yes I may be giving up some things, but not near as much if the Dumbocrats take over, then you will see our way of life and our liberties go away. I am 65 and have voted forever and have voted for Democrats in the past, but not a single Dumbocrat will get my vote this year and as far as I can see in the near future unless their platform or lack thereof changes.

I will not vote for a Democrat but that does not mean all Republicans get my vote either. If I dot agree with a certain candidate I will not vote in that race. I try to get a cursory look at all races before I go, but I will admit that with 14 pages of choices I cant remember them all. I use vote411.org to figure out what will be on my ballot, this really helps for positions that do not define a party, school board -etc. I have changed the way I vote races that I disagree with my primary party candidate over the years but I usually leave feeling I did the best I could without being in politics professionally.

I worked for a chemical plant for over 36 yrs and my retiree insurance is around $1,000 a month and teachers are complaining because their went to $300 a month. So your are going to vote for someone who believes in open borders so teachers will have more students that no comprehende englesh that we the tax payers are giving them a free education and benefits they don't deserve.

Are you that misinformed? Wow! My Aunt is a retired teach and now pays $1200 a month for insurance. But you go ahead and make up numbers. Guess, what it's my vote, so I can vote how I please. You can also thank a teacher that your are able to read and comprehend this.

Actually the way its set up, there is a check and balances system to make changes to their pension, which is self ran fund, not city ran, it has to go through the state to make change to it; in simple terms. So a city rep or anyone has to get a bill introduced in Austin to make changes that are not agreed up on at the local level. But many state law makers, both democrat and republican were quick to screw public servants.

The time to get rid of Republican bad actors is in the primaries.
The problem is most people don’t seem to care in the primaries to show up and vote.

I am a Houston Fireman & I can tell you he screwed my pension. We had the #1 rated public pension in the state according to the state report in 2017. And Mayor Turner(liberal Democrat, former state rep for 20 years) used Joan Huffman(conservation republican) & Dan Flyn(conservative republican) to submit a bill in Austin to cut my pension by 40% and it give 1.2 billion from my pension fund to help the other the other two city funds that had not managed their money correctly. Turner called it ďshared sacrificeĒ, I call it Socialism! And Dan Patrick went right along with it. Turner is one of of the most corrupt politicians to ever serve in Texas, but Dan sure was quick to help him out.

I have to laugh at all of the public servants here complaining about their bloated pensions. Go work in the private sector where you don't have inflated salaries, unions, or public pensions. It's time to either ban public unions, or slash pensions and salaries across the board.

I'll vote against those 100% of the time, as I can see through the union rhetoric.

Teachers aren't the only people whose insurance has skyrocketed. Everyone under Obamacare has seen their insurance rates rise and benefits fall.

Mine and my wife's has went from $600.00 per month to over $1900.00. Insurance payments are higher than my house note. Try being self employed and have to deal what the Democrats have crammed down our throats. I'll never vote for a Democrat.

Inflated salaries? A Houston Firenan starts out at 28k a year. That qualifies him for the Lone Star Card if he has a family. Also, police, fire, & teachers do not get social security. But if you want to come risk your life like me for my over inflated salary & my crappy pension; come on. I invite you to come ride with us for a 24hr Shift, then let me know how you feel.

Amen Jerry the Dems kicked the self employed in the tenders with the Obama care. and like Nancy Pelosi said we have to pass it to find out what is in it.
They didn't even bother to read it before voting on it. And yet they passed it.
