I wish there was something he could do about it. If 5k people walk into our soldiers arms they aren't going to be sent back across the river without processing. They will be processed and released with a court date.

A soldier's mission is to defeat the enemy by means of fire and maneuver in order to destroy or capture him, or to repel his assault with fire, close combat, and counterattack.

There are millions more like me. Old and disgruntled crusty old vets that don't appreciate what is being done to our country. I am no longer agile and fleet of foot but I can still see very well and my trigger finger is good, I'm not recoil sensitive and I can still hit a man sized silhouette with open sights at 500 meters.
Yessir, I took that same oath June 20, 1971, then again June 1, 1975 when I got my Commission... Still in force far as I'm concerned. I'd go in a heartbeat to protect the future of my grandbabies! Sooner or later Americans, REAL Americans are gonna get enough of this crap and it's gonna be ON. This election very could be the trigger or it could be the thing that puts the "safety" back on for a while depending on outcome...

My Angie is in the Texas State Guard. She is waiting for the alert from Gov Abbott. TSG members are allowed to carry as long as they have a LTC. Hope it doesn't come to that. She is in the air wing and they provide logistical support for all other branches but still----------no telling what's about to happen down there. She spent 6 weeks deployed during Hurricane Harvey but she's fired up and ready to go again if called.

They aren't walking nearly that far, they are loading up in 18-wheelers and flatbeds and being driven North.

If they were walking we wouldn't have to worry about this for another 3-4 months.

Exactly, but apparently all of these 'deprived migrants' are actually Olympic-quality long distance runners.

I have no idea what their ETA is, but there is a bunch of folks.

I saw some videos of people getting trucked and bussed, but there are apparently thousands of folks, and there aint that many trucks.

I think they are barely getting to South Mexico. Long way to walk to get to here still.

The hurricane about to make landfall on the west coast may slow them down some. It's likely to cause flooding all across central Mexico.

I'm all for open borders...if two countries have relatively equivalent economies, opportunity, cost of living, security, standard of living, education, immigration policies, etc. Basically making it not worth it for citizens of each country to move to the other.

But any one of those things not being equal will cause a shift in population from one to the other placing the burden of two populations on a single entity, destroying it.

South and Central American countries simply aren't our equivalent in those any of these areas. Hell, even if we annexed Mexico, you'd have to keep the border regulated for decades (probably a century) until we could improve it enough (at significant cost).

Edit: I'll add that countries with vastly different cultures could also not sustain open borders.

And I think there's a key bit of info these people wanting open borders don't understand. These people want to move here because we've have better "benefits" of citizenship. What I mean by that is security, opportunity, education, etc. Well if well allow tons and tons of people coming in, that spreads the benefits over a much larger group, which in turn reduces those benefits. So, not only would those people not end up getting what they wanted in the first place, they'd also F it up for the people living there.

Call it what you like. I don't think stupid needs fancy names.

Edit: I'd say socialism would be slightly different, where you increase the government provided benefits (as opposed to the population) so much that it becomes unsustainable (see Venezuela).

Example, even if our country didn't have government provided benefits like healthcare, public education, housing, etc., people would still come for the social "benefits", like jobs opportunities, and the standard of living. Those also would be reduced by an influx of people, still causing a collapse.

I'm sure they are taking advantage of the situation, but the real money/organization is much much bigger than the cartels.

In the mothers and kids backpacks?

Seriously though with all of the eyes on them, why risk it? The issue isnt getting it up Central America, its getting it over the border to the US. I would see it more as messing up the cartels trade routes, I mean they have been moving it for decades without the help of a caravan.

I dont doubt that the cartels had a say in some part of it though

No I mean as misdirection. Hoping to pull resources from other parts of the border to deal with this. Then exploit that lack of resources. Again, who knows if itís true but I have guys doing work for me from Sonora and their folks back home are saying thatís whatís up.

Well, Pablo was only one of several families in the Medellin Cartel. My point was just that the cartels have about as much power/influence/money as most of the richest people/groups in the world. Once you get into double digit billions, you are a pretty big player on the world stage

If they make it to the border, it will be a completely epic ****show.

And if they bum-rush the Border Patrol, Trump should have a Border Wall funding bill on his desk ready to be signed by Monday morning.

This could backfire on the Dems bigly.

I'm afraid this will be a no win situation for the current Addmin and this country..
If they decide to push it and cross over then what??
If action is taken and some are killed there will be mayhem..
If no action is taken then Trump will be seen as all talk and the next wave will be right on their heels.. This crap should have been shut down 25-30 years ago.. Because it wasn't we now have a crisis situation..
This won't end well. I'm just hoping and praying that they don't even make it here..

This has the fingerprints of the dems all over it. People will talk, bread trails will be followed and we will eventually know who orchestrated this and they will be held responsible for any injuries and life lost to Americans and foreigners due to their actions.
This is already backfiring on the dems and rallying up the right at the early polls. The soon to come video's of thousands of people busting through our border waiving the Honduras flag will seal the deal on Trumps re-election and possible the border wall.

So if Antifa can stand in the streets of Portland, Oregon and bash cars, attack old people or throw things at police, then I don't see a single problem with Texas/Patriots showing up to peacefully set up a "wall" to meet the invading horde at the border.

May be kind of Chicken Little here, is it not out of the realm of possibility that someone supplies arms to this group? They're not smart enough to use them themselves so lets bring 7000 folks up here who can and will.
