Kelly Livestock in Lipan always have high placing lambs.

Chilcutt in Parker County has excellent sheep.

Nathan Haws is in Beeville and has some top notch stock.

Kelly has a tremendous operation but you’re definitely gonna drop some coin.

I would start with a goat. Not as stubborn as a lamb. A little smarter. And less money for the first animal.

Good show goats are more than lambs. I know people that have spent over $5,000 on one goat

Cheap goats are hard to find that are competitive went to a Blue Team sale a few months ago and watched several sell for 20k yes 20k not a typo. And most brought over 5k.

My kid shows sheep and we buy ours from Kelly but there main breed is dorper. We bought a black from them this year but I don’t think they are going to continue selling them. we have had great luck with them and they are great people. Stock is pricey but if you want to be in the top sale slots going the cheap route doesn’t always work out.

Hampshire x Suffolk I believe .They had them up to about $8-10k ...Crazy money, We paid $ 12k for a Brangus Bull
Years Ago From Camp Cooley Ranch and I thought that was crazy then... They had several Lambs sell up to $20k but We aren't
Anywhere near that determined to Win it All..
