Timely thread for me... just bought a 70 acre place just south of Brenham and it had cows on it when I bought it. I told him to keep them there so I can have the Ag exemption.
From the looks of the pastures, nothing has been done in years. Speaking with the guy that has the cattle, he never met the previous owners. the pastures are not in good shape, so it sounds like I need to have another meeting with the cattle guy about expectations or buy myself a few head of cattle.
