This past weekend I was lucky enough to spend it with my son and a fellow TBH’er playing golf and catching a gator!
We were invited to try and get a gator on his family land in east Texas. I cleaned the gator skull of a couple of the ones they got in the past including a giant they took last year.
We were after a gator. Didn’t matter the size because we only had two days. The river was was out of its banks so we were limited to 3 ponds on the property.
1st night one bait wasn’t touched, one bait was stole by a small gator and another bait had something but it got off.
2nd night very similar to the 1st one bait a coon got, 2nd bait same small gator took, last bait we had success and caught a 5’8” gator!!
While the baits were set we spent our time fishing, great conversation, and played a round of golf. I haven’t played in probably 15 years. My son “played” with us also and had a blast. It looks like my golf days are not over.
Thank you to a fellow TBH’er for putting this together and treating us like family. I won’t name him unless he wants to speak up on this thread!
