Headed to walmarts, reckon we'll need 5 or 10 lbs of flour?

If I don't see a reply before I get there, it'll be 10 lbs...

I talked to JP a while back. He sounded like there was some question about his attendance. I'll see if I can't get in touch with him.

Fryer is clean! Well, I should say the fryer has been assaulted with 7,000 psi of water and I've been coated in old fish grease and french fry leavins.......I smell tasty though.

Anyone got a batter bucket? I left mine at the deer lease....

Sorry Guys (and Gals) but I have been waiting till the last minute to make the call. I don't see how there is going to be any way to make it this year. Since they moved the weekend on us, this really messed my plans up. This will be the 1st one I have missed in 6 years!

My Son's 9th B-Day party is Sat at 1:00 and his actual B-Day is Sunday. If I come down on Friday afternoon, stay the night and then get up, cook for a while and then head out (which, believe me I am still tempted to do), the "what ifs" come in to play...like breaking down/flat tire/hangover, etc. If I miss or am late to his party, I will be sent to the dog house at the North Pole

If I come in on Sat afternoon (which again, I am still tempted to do) I would miss the big meal and would not be there to wish him Happy Birthday on Sun am. I'm certainly not complaining about having to be there for his birthday, I just wish I could be in both places at once!

Sooo...y'all have fun and raise up a shot for me. Sniff, sniff

A big thanks to all you guys, especialy the new guys. The new crew really picked up the slack from missing our front of the rotation crew. Chicken manned the fryer and kept us below 400 (for the most part), and I even managed to do very slightly more than I normaly do.

Chris (Ouch) though, took things to the next level this year, with the advent of the....................

wait for it......

Beer Battered Gizzard! If you enjoyed some of the later batches, he is largely responsible!

Thanks to Tubby as always for the security, I never once felt as if my life were in any real danger (except when the grease hit 420 or so)

It was a good time, to be sure. Moser takes the delegation of authority to a level I've never seen, and Chicken's a master when it comes to cookin' right through a 70 degree window of grease variation.

Now, when it comes to the beer batter, there were at least four different flavors of beer used, and a resulting innard that was a **** sight better than expected, but I gotta say it again: you could prolly run a steamin' dog **** through a poorly made beer batter and make it edible.

First thing on the agenda for next year?

DIPS!

Don't worry about 420 degrees Dale. We atTeam Fishhead discovered, peanut oil can be heated to close to 450 degrees without burning.

The gizzards were great. Thanks for keeping my wife entertained. She keeps rubbing it in to me about how I missed out on the beer battered gizzards.

Aside from the new beer batter, it was just salt, pepper, and Ragin Blaze in the flour...and a dusting of salt while still hot out of the grease.

Apparently the sound of a 747 attempting to pull a mountain over isn't enough to guide you in...? We got tired of waiting for the rain to quit, so we commandeered a tent away from the usual location. Thanks to whoever belonged to that tent btw.

You gentlemens wisdom and company were sorely missed. But the "Slack" as it were, was picked up nicely by WpCattleco, Diamonde40, and last but certainly not least Saxet Nomad. You would have been proud....

Yeah, but they were tender, not nearly as crunchy as most gizzards.
