I'm kinda hoping this means he backed off and is gonna pick up the trail tomorrow. I'm thinking this buck was still alive when we all went to bed last night.

A few years back ,my son and I lost a big one out near Del Rio. shot thru a lung with a 7 mag...found frothy blood ......more blood and then just a drop or 2 for a long distance.....then would find a plug of hair fallen out and a bunch of blood...then taper off till the next pulg would be found....he was licking the hair into the out side of the wound and would only leak from the high side entrance hole. We finally lost him when the rains came and washed out all sign...know he died but couldn't recover him...we looked for the remains...for years in that area with no positive results..
