No need to keep wondering because the person holding the fish is the one that hooked it.

O.P. he didn't mean any disrespect. Don't let it bother you any. He was just saying that when a young kid "hooks" a fish as nice as that one that it often "hooks" the young kid onto fishing. Meaning your boy will be "hooked" on fishing from now on. (Who really hooked who... your son or the bass. In this case it will probably go both ways)
