    YeeYee a few got lucky

Had a few days to go and enjoy the cold front. Looking for some input on age/score of this guy. Had him around all day Saturday. Had a couple bucks there I thought were 5-6. This 10 looked more like a healthy 3 yr old maybe 4. (130ish) Hill Country deer. Gillespie County

I find it extremely difficult to age Gillespie County deer. I shot one this year thinking he was good enough. He didn't look young, but not old either.

Dang thing's teeth were terribly worn down. Way older than I ever thought.

That's what brought me to ask the experts. I've hunted the same property for 30 years. I can usually pin the post mature bucks but anything from 3-6 is a crap shoot some days

He looks 3.5 to me. Hill country deer are always tough and specifically early in the season. I bet he scored around 125.”

              I think he’s at least 5.

My wife shot a symmetrical 10 in gillespie co a few years ago and it went 134 3/8 but it had a little more mass than this buck i think. Im sure its right at the 130 mark

Great looking buck but I somewhat agree on 3.5-4.5

My guess. 4 and low 130s.

I bet he is a 4 year old and scores mid 120's.

I agree with the 3-4 assessment. Great deer to let walk.
