That’s it for today.
1 buck for Dad.
6 total for me.
1 buck & 5 does.
So I know the title says Polk County, but after watching cell cameras the last few days, weather forecast and talking with my little brother, we’ve made the executive decision to drive Dad up to the Panhandle to try and kill a BIG 8 we have showing up everyday. We can only hunt him on a North wind. Just so happens that there will be a North wind Wednesday morning.
I hate to leave the river bottom when things are about to get western, but my goal is to get Dad on a good buck.
The plan is to pick my brother Kade up and drive to the lease, hunt a SE wind this evening and Ninja sneak in the blind EARLY tomorrow morning to hunt Ol Big.
Hang with me and I’ll keep y’all updated.

We are set up and settled in!
Ok, so we made awesome time!
Kade has a heavy foot!
Rolled up at the property where we have the big 8 showing up. Kade & I snuck in and brushed in a ground blind inside a cedar tree 25 yards from the feeder pen.
Then hauled it to another property with SE wind sets. Kade dropped me and Dad off and went to another property with a SE set.
It’s a tad warm. 81 degrees 21 MPH SSE Wind in our face.
Kade just text and already has long beards coming in.
We have a few shooters here at this set, so Ol Gilbert may fill a tag today.
This is definitely a Hell Mary trip! Hopefully it pays off.
I don’t get to hunt with my Dad much so this is definitely a special week for me. Even better, Kade got to take off work and go with us. We both were raised by this man in the woods, hauling us around and busting his butt so we could hunt. So it’s awesome to get to tell him to just enjoy the hunt and we’ll do all the work.
