Any opinions on the .270?

Nothing at all wrong with a good Ol' 270 I would venture to say that Caliber has killed almost as many critters as the tried & true 30-06. I still own & shoot my Weatherby Vanguard ( Wal-Mart special ) in 270, one of the most accurate out of the box rifle I have ever owned. I've done absolutely nothing to it & prints tiny lil clovers at 100 with 140 factory Accubonds

Depending on my whim of the moment it will be one of the following:

Barret Fieldcraft 6.5X55 with 130 gr. Swift Sciroccos
Christensen Arms Mesa 6.5 PRC with 130 Accubonds
Browning 1885 in 7 Mag with 145 gr. Speer Grand Slams

If you're going to own just one rifle. A .270's a good choice.

For years I have used my 7mm RUM for deer and Antelope size game.
This past year I purchased a Tikka T3X Super Lite in 243 Win and worked up a load using the Barnes 80 gr TTSX.
I am excited about having it become my new Antelope and probably deer rifle.
