Kansas Season Over Earlier Than Expected

Well, went up to Kansas earlier this week primarily to get things set up for our rut hunt in a few weeks and ended up closing the deal on this brute on second sit of the year. Not my highest scoring KS buck, but this joker was the biggest bodied deer I have seen over 10 years of hunting up there. Guess I’m camp cook and scout for the rest of the season.

I was by myself (had help getting him in ranger) and had to get him caped and quartered so I didn’t get an official weight. I’ll put it this way, halfway through caping him the pulley on my skinning pole snapped. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was over 300lbs on the hoof.

Best guess would be 300lbs but didn’t get a chance to weigh him.
