Yes. He was excited and then bummed out. I explained that it’s just part of it and don’t get discouraged.

Clay Collins killed a good one yesterday afternoon on our lease. 145 2/8 he had 10pts live weight 193# and 6.5 years old. This is Clays first buck, and he is one proud young man!

Checked the pinch point camera at dairy today. Friday at 11:00 a new buck cruises through. Great looking middle aged 8, got potential if he makes it. This morning about 8 on feed route a saw a doe standing where deer never are, looked behind and saw another “deer”. Knew it was a buck and glasses him with truck gun. Young 10 that broke one whole side off right out of velvet. He broke it where he has a g1 looking like a long spike. He’s legal... so best of luck to him

My last year on a lease in Polk Co, the lease manager shot what he thought was a 4 x spike one morning in a heavy fog...turned out that he was a young buck that had broken off his left side. That's a sick feeling when you realize it was a young buck with potential. We razzed him pretty hard over that one

Went from in a stand nice and cozy to running/army crawling a 1/2 mile, and then having to make a 300 yard shot completely exhausted! Roughed at 39 6/8 mass!! Truly awesome old boy that I’m beyond excited to have! I grinded hard on this deer and glad it all lined up! Thank you lord for another opportunity at a true east Texas monarch!
