Any luck with ATV pulled disc for food plot?

Have a couple acres off the beaten path that we would like to put a food plot in. Anyone here have any luck with the ATV pulled disc or any other ATV implement that would get the job done better above throw-n-grow? Are they hard on the ATV’s?

    Pics appreciated.

I have one that I use in out of the way places, it flips over to pull with wheels. Only thing to get optimum use is add weight because they are light and bounce around.

I think Sleepy uses one if I remember correctly.

Yes, they work pretty well on small plots and trails and don’t cut too deep. Just enough for seed to soil contact. I have an old king kutter and have used it for several years. I like to hook a drag onto the back of it after broadcasting seed in the fall to cover it.

I tried to dig up some pics but couldn't find them, but a buddy of mine has a Ground Hog Pro disc that hooks up to a receiver hitch on a four wheeler. That thing is BAD@$$. For small plots you can't beat it.

Bringing this thread back to the top as I'm looking for one of these also to pull with a UTV. On the Ground Hog types, I've read in some of the reviews that they sometimes will bend the receiver hitch when working with hard ground.

The Ground Hog disc works great for smallish plots in sandy soils. It does put a lot of stress on the four wheeler or UTV that is pulling it so keep that in mind when deciding the size of the plot.

I have the 4ft disk harrow. Comes with a 2 inch ball hitch built on it. I add some solid blocks on the rack to give it weight. Dont need as much weight if soil is loose. Works great.

Got to be careful not to burn up a clutch on an automatic.

Yes, I use one also. The plow needs a little extra weight so I put a piece of RR track on it. The plow works great on sandy loam, old road beds, soil with light clay. The harder the soil, the more it needs to be plowed.

these are all small plots, less than an acre in size.
