She's 89 years old, and up until a year ago, she'd work circles around most men.
Her problems first started with A-fib. She now has a pacemaker, and a handful of medications, but her heart is taking its toll on her aging body. She's down from about 140 pounds, to 90 pounds in the last 6 months.
Recently, she moved from her bedroom, to the couch, to sleep because it was more convenient for her. Over the last few weeks, she's become less and less active; some days never getting up from the couch. She saw her heart doctor, today, and he told her that if she didn't up her activity, that she's not even a candidate for physical rehab.
Her son lives with her, but won't do a **** thing to help her.
We've asked her third grandson if he and his girlfriend could move in to help her; she won't have it.
She doesn't want to go into a nursing home. I can't say I blame her.
We've asked her if she'd move in with my mom, but she won't do that either.
My mom and step-mom are the only people that she'll let help her. My mom lives an hour away, and goes to help her on the weekends. My step-mom goes by there twice a day, to help her, and takes her to most of her doctor's appointments.
Her quality of life is just about zero.
She is a very Godly woman, but I don't think she's quite ready to see Him. Of all the people in my life, I figured she'd be the one that wasn't afraid of dying, just because of her devout Catholic faith.
I don't know what the Lord has in store for her; I just hope he does it sooner than later, whether it's physical healing or the end of her suffering.
If you have a second, say a quick prayer for her.
