Are they still doing it?
The greyhound track in West Memphis if it's still open.
Drank enough whiskey in there in to float a boat, good good times .
I did the Beal Street Musical festival for almost 15 yrs straight, and had some of the best times of my life in Memphis.
Graceland is cool, once, imo .
Platinum Plus is a must, but probably long gone by now...
Grimey azz place nowadays though, much like New Orleans, maybe worse.

Worked with a guy who knew a guy, etc. but one time I got to go up on the Peabody roof and saw where the ducks are safely tucked in for the night in their critter proof little cages. They spend the night in the “Royal Duck Palace” on the hotel's rooftop then these five mallard ducks ride the elevator down and march on a red carpet up to and jump in the fountain of the Peabody's Grand Lobby. May sound meh, but it really is kinda cool to see.

I was never a huge Elvis fan, but you might be, so if you are, by all means make it a part of your trip. Melissa Cookston is a BBQ pitmaster who has appeared on those BBQing shows. She owns Memphis Barbecue Company in Horn Lake, Mississippi. It's just across the state line. If you're looking for the best Memphis BBQ, this is it. We bought a bottle of her spices when we ate there last year, and sadly it's almost gone. We also ate at Central BBQ Downtown in Memphis. It was good, but not even close to Memphis Barbecue Co. Central BBQ was real close to the Lorraine Motel & the Civil Rights Museum which I understand is very good. We didn't have time to go there though.
