Some will say I have luck on my side but Thanks for my stars lining up in my best buck. No pics or history of this deer this season and my natural hunters instinct set me up for the perfect hunt!

Thanks guys! A little backstory on these deer. I’ve been fortunate to take some true free range studs and each year I feel like I will never get one bigger. Have shot a 161” 10point last season I didn’t think it could be done. Going into this season I was not getting any pics of a deer near that quality so I changed my tactics to no cameras. I went from 7-8 to 2. Back to just go hunt and see what happens. So onto the hunt. I sat in a tree stand after placing some pig hunters in the stands and at about 4pm I simply was underdressed. So I went to a box blind. At 5:15 I got out to look for a pig to shoot at least. Well half way through a stalk on a big pig I noticed 2 doe that kept looking across the field. Then I saw what looked like a moose coming across. I changed tactics to getting in position. After a few minutes he chased them into the woods. I sat there catching my breath and getting my heart rate back down from the stalk. 5 minutes before shooting light was up the doe popped out and right behind there he was. I laid my big arze down and made a great shot. Still not truly know what he was other then wide I was amazed at what he was. And once again I outdid my best buck. I won’t say never but I will say to take this deer on a place I grew up hunting and now able to take such quality animals on my own place is very rewarding. To think just 15 years ago deer where rare around here to taking such quality animals is a blessing! Rough score is 172” but will have it scored by taxidermy to confirm.
