Default Touchdown Celebrations

After a 25+ year absence of watching the Dallas Cowboys, I have watched most of their games this year due to character flaw and bad judgement on my part . The one thing that gets under my skin is the elaborate celebrating and showing off after almost every touchdown. They actually have BS rehearsed before the game. When did this BS start. I`m not against any celebrating at all, but this is just nonsense to the 3rd degree. These guy`s act like they just won the Superbowl after every score. It`s pathetic to say the least. What ever happened to players like Emmit Smith who acted like "I`ve been here before" after he scored. Even Michael Irvin couldn`t hold a candle to what goes on now days. I`m done.

I dont watch Football any longer for nonsense like this...even just a tackle. It is all about the coaches. In the prior coaching history, they would not allow this crap. Tell the player to act like it is something they do every day. Thats what happens when everyone gets a trophy. You win the Big Game, then you can dance and celebrate.

I quit watching fb 40 years ago when the NFL wouldn't let the players spike the ball. These celebrations now would cause most over the top T men to be triggered and start a fight.

You know its just a game right? Games are supposed to be fun. As long as whatever the celebration is does not disparage the opposition, let them have fun & celebrate.

It's not just TD's they celebrate. Ever watch that overpaid Cowboys running back when he makes one of his rare 1st down runs? The other running back, the one that makes all the good yardage runs just goes back to huddle like no big deal. I can see some celebration on good sacks and tackles. Well, sort of.

I agree with you. Cee Dee Lamb puts on a show it seems like every time he catches a ball. He will miss 4 in a row and the act like he can walk on water when he catches one. Micah Parsons, Cooper rush and Tony Pollard are the only reason I have watched any FB this year. Dak and Elliot and average players making superstar money. Who can blame them. JJ overpaid for talent.

Nothing wrong with being happy. I didn't play, but it does look incredibly hard to score a touchdown. Watching people play whack-a-mole in the salvation army bucket is enjoyable and something I look forward to now on Thanksgiving. "What are they doing to do this year?"

Some of y'all must be a lot of fun to hang out with...

Those guys were blessed with physical gifts and then put in the work to be able to make a living playing a game that less than 1,700 people in the world get to play. Why not have some fun with it?!

You against bat flips after homers too I assume?

Man guys, either enjoy life or don’t but don’t judge others for enjoying their moment in time. That moment will never come around again and if I was being paid millions of dollars to catch a piece of pig skin in a great moment I’d probably be trying to do the back spin or moon walk and I can’t do either.

I happen to enjoy any sort of celebration whatsoever and I think the people who don't are sticks in the mud looking for reasons to complain about every little thing.

My favorite is when Zeke jumped into the Salvation Army bowl and popped his head up like a little troll doll.

Yep. Do they encourage fans to boo when they get toasted or steam rolled?

I am not against all celebrations, but when I see a guy crawling across the field like a stripper on stage after a routine tackle, that is getting carried away.

To me, the greatest celebration is to act like you've been there before and you it wasn't anything really special. Makes folks think, "****, they must be a bad ***."

It's not even after every score that they do this nonsense. Intercept the football, they all run to the end zone to mug for the camera. Either penalize them for this nonsense or remove those cameras so they can't do it. Poor sportsmanship all the way around!!

Think of how much fun this could add to our workplace If we all did a celebration dance when we succeeded in doing what we’re getting paid to do.
I’m gonna go rehearse now.

Awe the Ole Spike the Printer.

I'm about to go crush the snot out of lining up a boiler for a hydro.

I'm trying to decide between...spike the valve wrench, or gyrate.

Maybe a valve wrench spike / gyrate combo.... oh yeah that's the one.

How about the defensive back who acts like he just saved the game when the receiver he was covering didn't catch the pass.....and the pass wasn't anywhere near catchable in the first place.

Do you celebrate when you get a promotion, large bonus, or kill a big buck? ..

It's their literal job to go score a touchdown.

Are they ridiculous? Yes, but if I was on the field and just made an extra 150k or what ever I would be doing the dumbest shart you could think of. Dougie, Tea Party, Pretending the ball is a beer (cracking it open and chugging ending with a spike.) All the old farts watching at home could go kick rocks.

I guess everyone forgot that Emmitt actually got the rules of the game changed because he would rip off his helmet and yell every time he scored...

And Deon doing his little side shuffle and what not. Now that there is no penalty for it, some of them are actually humorous to watch.

I saw a little NFL in a sports bar the other day after watching ZERO since 2020 and actually told my family “how do people watch this crap”.

I just don’t get it. Nothing about it.

Can’t tolerate much college football either.

Why go to a sports bar in the middle of football season if you don’t like football? And then complain about it?

Did you think that they were going to have figure skating on or something?

Because they have 365 different beers available…..I don’t know if sports bar is the best description of the place but beer, bar food and TVs is more a sports bar to me than calling it just a restaurant and it’s not a bar. I absolutely love breweries and sports bars which generally have the sport of the day on their TVs.

I go to sports bars on a regular basis for beer variety and generally do not pay much attention to what is on the TV unless it is hockey, NASCAR or college sports.

Just happened to have a good view and was looking that way at the time.

Didn’t complain. Made an observation. Much like I feel like instant replay has ruined sports in general. I have watched more college football this year since the kid is an Aggie and instant replay kills the momentum of games. No matter the sport.

Luckily there is not much of that in NASCAR or hockey either. NASCAR is trying their best to drag some of the other “crap” into the sport though. They get criticized weekly for it also.
