I have no expertise at all, but I'd guess something from early Spanish explorers/settlers.

            That's crazy
Was it found near any known settlements?

We really need more info, but if I had to guess it fell off of a wagon train heading west.

Not enough info provided. Did you find it? Buy it? Where? When? How? Who?

Any context as to where it was found?

Recent find. 3-4 miles from the nearest power transmission line. Rugged terrain above the 6700' elevation. Not possible for any type of wagon movement (very rocky terrain). SE NM for the location area.

Early Mesopotamian goddess statue. It was traded by ancient Egyptians and sold to the romans.

Just a guess!...possible trade piece. Who knows where from. Looks old and weathered. Something to definitely hold on to. Back "in the day" good stone and pretty stuff carried a lot of value. If that's granite or marble, especially from a northern mine sight, almost unheard of here in the South. One of my best artifacts was root beer chert from the Dakotas..found in San Saba

I see Romanesque...or at least Mediterranean area...with that curly hair and hair band.

                            Interesting find.
