Default Weekend Pic.. Milky Way

One single image.. Not real experienced in star stuff. Had some really great pics, then when I was going to do a time lapse and stack the images I reformatted the card I took all my singles on. I didn't realize until I got home the horror that I did. So I turned around and drove back out to the county to try and get at least one shot. Not the best, but I'm happy with it mostly..

F1.8, ISO800 for 25sec.

The 70D jumped for 20 to 25. Really needed to be like 22. Got a little streaking, but just a little.

Awesome shot. But can we actually see the cluster that is the milky way, since were inside it? Seems to me that that would be another galaxy. But then again, I don know much about astronomy.

Yes, you can.. In part.. Have you ever seen a picture of a galaxy flat on? A big round swirl.. What your looking at is the swirl. Your not seeing the whole galaxy no, but your seeing into the arm of the swirl.

I can only imagine the amount of people that have never seen stars like this, or even know they can look like this.

Jamie, I have used this program to recover lost photos. I got a copy with a san disk card I bought a while back. Might work.
