      No. 7x = 182. x = 26

        Correct add the Xs together then divide.

            X+X+5X-2=180
            X+X+5X=180+2
            7X=182 divide both by 7
            X=26

                  2x + 10 + 90= 180
                  2x + 100 = 180
                  2x = 80
                  X = 40

                    You have to combine the like terms before you can divide by the coefficient in the 1st problem.

                    In the 2nd problem, there is 2 ways to do it. You can take the x + x+10 and set it equal to 90 or you can set x+x+10+90 equal to 180 and solve. One extra step of addition if you solve the 2nd equation.

                        wow. these are so simple.

                        The sum of the interior angles of a triangle is always 180 degrees, in two dimensions. work from there.

                        I can also prove that the product space of two metric spaces is also a metric space. Assume not, then show that the assumption contradicts that the initial metric spaces are metric. QED

                            I’m so lost how I. The hell do you know what x is to begin with.

                              You don't know what x is to begin with. That's the point of it - to figure out what x is. In the first problem, we determined that x = 26. If all 3 angles of the triangle add up to 180 degrees (as they do in every triangle, no matter what it looks like), and the two narrow angles in that particular triangle are both x and the widest angle is 5x-2, then you can check to see if 26 is the correct answer......

                              x + x + 5x-2 = 180
                              26 + 26 + 5(26) - 2 = 180
                              52 + 130 - 2 = 180
                              182 - 2 = 180
                              180 = 180 TRUE, so 26 is the correct answer for that one
