super blackhawk .44 what barrel length?

I'm looking at a couple of super blackhawks, I'm leaning towards the 7-1/2"
    but the 10-1/2" looks interesting.
    Anybody have experience with both?

If you plan to carry it much at all go with the shorter barrel.

That's my thinking, the long one would be fun at the range

I've got the 7 1/2" That's all the longer I would want for hunting.

I’ve got the 10.5”. Very fun gun to shoot. Barrel length isn’t as big an issue like most people think.

I just ordered the 7.5" for myself and it will be used for hunting whitetails, axis, bear and lion. I love a handgun and am a fan of the 44 Mag.

I have both if you are gonna shoot open sights and can deal with the extra barrel I shoot much better with the 10.5. If you are going to scope it get the 7.5 you won’t loose enough velocity to notice.

I had the Super Redhawk in the long barrel! It was accurate pretty far oit. I imagine that one would be awesome for hunting hogs.

I plan on hip carry and am looking at a 5.5”
                  I have a 45/45 acp convertible in 4 5/8”

                    Are you scoping it, 10”

                    Otherwise the 7.5” feels good

I had a 7.5 inch one that I killed elk, mule deer and black bear with

Thanks for all the input, 10.5" seems a little bulky for thick brush.

I like the 4", myself. My favorite handgun.

Had the 9.5, and sold it. Too heavy with a scope. Went to 7.5's, like a lot better balance.

I've got the Super Blackhawk .44 in a 4 5/8" barrel. It's easy to carry in a chest holster, fun to shoot if using .44 special rounds, and enough knockdown power for just about anything if using .44 magnum rounds.

I tried the 10" barrel and it seemed a little awkward to me. I think it'd be fine if you had it scoped, and used it for still hunting out of a blind with shooting sticks, or a window ledge to support it. I use my Thompson Center Encore for that same scenario.

I've never shot the 7 1/2" barrel, but I think if I had to make a choice between it, and the 10" I'd go with the 7 1/2". Just my opinion.
