    Low poundage, Big cut mechanical.

Shot this 100ish # pig tonight with a 2 (TWO) and 1/4" cut Dead Ringer Mechanical BH. Freak, i think its called. This head can be changed from 1 3/4" (I think it is) to the 2 1/4" that I set it at. Biggers better, right?

    Pulling 56# shooting a 445gr CE Mutiny 350 @ 273 fps.

Shot was 36 yds. A tad high. One of the ft long (actually 1 1/8" - x 2) blades hit the underside of the spine I guess because the pig dropped. Blade bent a little but stayed together. The 30 1/2" arrow still burried to the fletching, with most of the shaft and BH sticking out the offside.

Pretty impressive BH, imo. It's one of those BHs that some joint ran on sale here while back. 3 pks for $25.

I won't hesitate to fling another!

I need a new bow... lol. I'm shooting 70#, 452 gr @275. What bow are you shooting?

This is good to know. Last year I experimented with some Grim Reapers through my 55# bow and had mixed results on pigs. Some were pass-thru's and some barely penetrated at all. I probably shot 5 hogs with them but only recovered 2. Shot placement is critical when you use mechanicals with lower poundage bows, I get that. And pigs can be tough critters too, especially the bigger boars. I think I need to do some more testing ha ha.

                This time not so bueno.
                20# pig.
150 yd recovery (solid blood trail).

Didn't open till exiting. Tiny entrance and about 1/2 open on exit. Still a decent exit wound and can't believe the little sucker made it as far as it did. Hit mid body, exited low, tight to the shoulder.

I shot a coon with one too. Worked on him. (That's the pig on ice, not the coon).

I can't believe you would chance spoiling the meat by putting it in the same cooler as Natty' Light...

Are these the same concepts the “inverter broadhead” a few years ago?
