There used to be a herd of around 30 of them that hung out around WOT and the Hills in the late 90s. Lakeway started trapping around then and they disappeared. Good to see the trait survived. Was this picture taken close to there?

I had a spike one year with a foot wide black strip down his back all the was to his head and ears. All black.

I shot a small six just like this right where the JW Marriott is off 281 when I was 16. I hope to find pics one day when we clean out my moms house. We saw a few does that were dark but not as dark over the years.

I watched a set of melanistic twins for a couple of years out near Zephyr a few years ago. We lost the lease, but I sure would have been interested to watch them grow up!
